SoilMate Software Updates:
  1. SoilMate Application – Updates SoilMate functions and reports
  2. SoilMate Reference Data – Updates evaluation criteria and fertilizer products
  3. SoilMate PDF Update V5 - Updates SoilMate Forms
  4. SoilMate Information Library – Updates the Information Library and Help Topics

To Update the SoilMate Application

1.          Download SoilMateInstall_4.7.9.0.zip file into your C:\SoilMate\ directory,as follows:

           

             Select Link:    SoilMateInstall_4.7.9.0.zip    (choose Save)   



2.          Download SoilMateExport.zip into your C:\SoilMate\ directory, as follows:

           

             Select Link:    SoilMateExport.zip    (choose Save, then select 'Y' to overwrite)



3.          Close your SoilMate application.



4.          You now need to extract the files from SoilMateInstall_4.7.9.0.zip.

             Locate this file in your C:\SoilMate\ directory (from Step 2).

             Right click on this file, which will launch your extraction program (WinZip,FreeZip etc).

             Select the 'Extract Files.....' option in the Toolbar, to your C:\SoilMate\ directory.

           

            Select 'Replace Existing Files'.



5.         Re-start your SoilMate program

To download SoilMate Reference Data

  1. Click on the link in red below.

    SoilMateExport.zip
  2. A File Download screen will ask you if you would like to open or save the file to your computer.
    Select the Save button. 
  3. This will bring up the Save As screen. Find the C:\SoilMate folder and select the Save button.
  4. A progress bar will show the download has commenced
  5. When the download has finished, you may need to select the Close button
  6. Run your SoilMate® application

The Reference Data Update now occurs automatically if SoilMate® detects a newer version of the file SoilMateExport.zip in the folder C:\SoilMate. 

The following message will be prompted once you run SoilMate for the first time after successfully installing Reference Data.

 

To Update SoilMate PDF Forms (SoilMate SIF and SOF order forms)

We suggest you first print the update instructions, then click on the link in red below and follow the printed instructions.

SMEAPDFUpdateV5.zip  

  1. A File Download screen will ask you if you would like to open or save the file to your computer.
    Select the Save button. 
  2. This will bring up the Save As screen. Find the C:\SoilMate folder and select the Save button. 
  3. A progress bar will show the download has commenced. 
  4. When the download has finished, you may need to select the Close button. 
  5. Ensure the SoilMate application is closed.
  6. You now need to unzip the file you have just downloaded. Locate the zip file with the same name as the link above (C:\SoilMate\SoilMatePDFUpdateV1.zip) using Windows Explorer. Double click on the file. This will launch WinZip or FreeZip and load the file. Click on the Extract icon in the Toolbar. Extract to C:\SoilMate and overwrite all existing files.

 

To Update SoilMate Information Library and Help files

  1. To access the information library and help files from SoilMate (without the installation CD in the CD-ROM drive) please copy the help folder from the installation CD to C:\SoilMate. 
  2. Check that the Help folder exists on your PC by right mouse clicking on Start and selecting Explore. Select C:\SoilMate and look for a folder called Help. If the Help folder does not exist, copy it from your SoilMate CD to C:\SoilMate.
  3. To download the SoilMate Help file, Click on the following link

    SMEAHelp.zip (For eastern Australian users)

    SMWAHelp.zip (For western Australian users)

  4. A File Download screen will ask you if you would like to open or save the file to your computer. Select the Save button.
  5. This will bring up the Save As screen. Find the C:\SoilMate folder and select the Save button.
  6. A progress bar will show the download has commenced. The download will take some time (half to one hour).
  7. When the download has finished, you may need to select the Close button.
  8. You now need to unzip the file you have just downloaded. Locate the zip file with the same name as the link above (SMEAHelp.zip). The easiest way to locate the file is to right mouse click on Start, select Explore, find your C drive and the folder called SoilMate. Within the SoilMate folder double click on the zip file you downloaded (SMEAHelp.zip).
  9. The WinZip screen will be displayed. Click on the Extract button, and the folder C:\SoilMate should appear as the Unzip folder (If not select the C:\SoilMate folder) . Select the Extract button to proceed with unzipping the files. You may receive a message stating that the files have been successfully unzipped. Select the Close button to shut the WinZip screen if required.
  10. Run your upgraded SoilMate application by left mouse clicking on Start, selecting Programs, selecting SoilMate and selecting SoilMate. Your Help file will now be updated.
